Terms of Service

Last updated: 16 May 2026

Draft / placeholder. This document is provisional and will be replaced with the final legal copy before public launch. Use of the service while this notice is visible constitutes acceptance of the placeholder terms below.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account or otherwise using My Car Importer (the "Service") — including mycarimporter.com and any associated apps — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

My Car Importer is operated by MCI Logistics Ltd, a company registered in Nigeria. We provide auto-transport logistics including:

  • Trucking from US auction yards (Copart, IAAI, Manheim) to US ports of departure
  • Ocean freight from US ports to Nigerian ports of arrival via RoRo or container shipping
  • Customs clearing, documentation, and final-mile delivery within Nigeria
  • An online portal for quote management, wallet funding, order tracking, and transactional history

3. Eligibility

To use the Service you must be at least 18 years old, capable of forming a binding contract under Nigerian law, and provide accurate, current, and complete information during signup and on every subsequent transaction. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Quotes, orders, and pricing

All trucking, shipping, and full-service quotes displayed in the portal or sent by email are estimates until you formally accept them. Final pricing may vary based on actual carrier rates, fuel surcharges, customs duties, port handling fees, FX rate movement, repair or storage charges incurred at any stage, and other factors outside our reasonable control.

Once you accept a quote, the accepted total becomes binding for the line items it covers (trucking, shipping). Ancillary line items — auction fees, US-side storage, repairs, Nigerian-side clearing, home delivery, our service fee — are invoiced separately as they are incurred and paid from your wallet balance.

5. Wallet and payments

Payments are made in Naira (NGN) via your wallet. You fund your wallet by bank transfer to one of our designated accounts, using the unique reference code we provide. Staff verify each deposit against the bank statement, typically the same business day, before crediting your wallet. We may reject deposits that we cannot match.

Refunds default to wallet credit. Withdrawals back to your funding bank account are available on request but processed manually by our team. We do not store your card details or bank login credentials.

6. Tracking, delivery, and timelines

Estimated transit times (auction-to-port, ocean transit, port-to-doorstep) are indicative and not guaranteed. Carrier delays, weather, port congestion, customs holds, vessel rerouting, and force majeure events may push timelines. We will keep you informed via the portal stage timeline and email notifications.

7. Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel an order before the trucking stage at no cost beyond a small administrative charge. Once a vehicle has been picked up by a carrier or boarded a vessel, cancellation requires us to recover from the carrier — costs incurred up to that point are non-refundable, with any remaining balance returned to your wallet.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to import goods that violate Nigerian customs law (including but not limited to firearms, restricted vehicles, or counterfeit goods), to misrepresent the vehicle being imported, to engage in fraudulent payment activity, or to interfere with the security, integrity, or availability of the Service.

9. Limitation of liability

Our total liability arising out of or in connection with the Service, in any twelve-month period, is limited to the total amount of MCI service fees you paid us during the same twelve-month period. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages including lost profits, loss of business opportunity, or punitive damages. Carrier liability for damage in transit is governed by the carrier's own bill of lading.

10. Modifications

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via email and on the portal at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising under these Terms will be resolved in the courts of Lagos State.
